Google Calendar and the FIFA World Cup

If you’re a Google Calendar user, like me, you’ll most likely have come across their “Add Interesting Calendars” feature which, for example, allows you to easily keep track of when your favourite team plays their respective games.

If you’re a football fan (the actual football, not that American drag), like me, you’re most likely anxiously waiting for the FIFA World Cup 2010 to start.

If you’re messy, like me, you’re probably hoping that Google Calendar has all of the games combined in one “Interesting Calendar” so you can keep a bit of an overview of it all.

And finally, if you’ve went looking for that calendar, like me, you’ll probably have come across the annoying realisation that you cannot add the entire World Cup’s schedule in one go, but can only add individual teams. Of course adding every single competing team would not only fill up your list of external calendars completely, you’d also have every game double-booked. Once for the home team, once for the away team. In short, that won’t work.

BUT! Do not worry, luckily there’s more people, like you and me, who faced that problem. One of them, Ryan Cullen, took the initiative and added every single game to a calendar and is planning on keeping it updated throughout the tourney! I’m sure people like you and me can appreciate such an effort, so go check it out. It’ll be worth your while.
